Increasing Self Esteem in Children

As we all know, self-esteem is of great importance for everyone and it is especially essential that children feel good about themselves. This makes them confident in facing harsh times and negative pressures. Good self-esteem results in increased sense of optimism in them.

On the other hand, low self-esteem in children results in feelings of detachment and hopelessness. Such kids face a hard time being strong, locating solutions to problems and often pass into a phase of depression. This leads to withdrawal behavior and a critical attitude, with thoughts that he or she isn’t good enough.

The following points may be helpful in the growth of a healthy self-esteem in your child:

1. To counter low self-esteem in children, communicate with your child. He or she often face difficulties because of tight peer pressures. Try and help him or her to overcome it.
